OnlineAuction Celebrates 10,000,000 Listings with Contest
Oregon-based OnlineAuction.com has a reason to celebrate after reaching a new milestone — 10,000,000 items listed. The company announced a year-long YouTube contest with monthly prizes as well as a year-end grand prize of $5,000.

According to company spokesperson Valerie Fain, the success of OnlineAuction is due to its low cost membership. OnlineAuction offers free basic member accounts that can be used to bid, browse or buy on the site. A $4-per-month account offers access to private mail, feedback and chat rooms to connect with the sellers. Sellers can get verified for as little as $8 per month, and that fee also allows you to buy and sell as many items as you like, without paying additional listing or final value fees.

A Founding member account gives you access to everything offered by OnlineAuction and costs $196. After the first year, this membership is $96 each year.

My Auction Planet Offers Lots of Freebies
Free item insertion, free image upload, free stores and no final value fees are some of the many give-aways that My Auction Planet, formerly called Ubid Fast, is offering.

Additionally, sellers can take advantage of auto-listing, which lets them post any item until it sells. Like most small auction sites, My Auction Planet still has just a handful of registered members and only 50 or so total auctions listed. Still, with lots of "free fees" it might be worth bookmarking and checking in on from time to time.

BiddersnSellers Revamps Its Strategy
In a notice sent to registered members of the auction Web site, BiddersnSellers said it will make changes to its services that are designed to even out the buyer-to-seller ratio growth. As with many online auction places, BiddersnSellers has more sellers than buyers. Going forward, BiddersnSellers will be home to a limited number of 1,000 sellers. To be a seller, you will have to meet strict guidelines, including passing a new verification process and keeping in contact with buyers during the shipping process and such to create a positive experience for online shoppers.

High-End Auction Site For Luxury Goods
With a tagline of "Acquire What You Desire", Millionaires Bay is a new auction Web site offering an online venue for luxury goods. While the auction site is based in the UK, it is open to buyers and sellers worldwide. Membership for bidding and buying is free, and until Jan.1, 2008 auction registration is also free. The site charges a 1.5 percent final value fee to sellers. The site currently offers PayPal, Google Checkout and bank transfers between UK banks as payment options.
