Then add an events calendar to your site! It''s a great way to get your visitors to come back frequently while sharing information with your online community.

Post as many events related to your site''s content that you can find and encourage your customers to submit events that are happening in their local areas. For example, if your e-business sells pet supplies, fill your online calendar with regional dog shows, contests, adoption fairs, etc.

You can also use your calendar to promote your business - pick a day of each month to remind customers to check how much dog food they have left and prompt them to order more with a discount incentive. Start a "Fish Food Sale Week" and put that on your calendar, too. Set up a holiday and special occasion reminder service and offer coupons. Be careful to maintain a healthy balance between advertising and actual events so visitors aren''t constantly bombarded with ads for your business.

Keep your calendar current and updated. Make sure you have the ability to approve event submissions before they are added to the calendar so you can filter any unwarranted or irrelevant messages. Also, create a specific email address for calendar submissions, such as calendar@yourbusiness.com. Check the email frequently since the submissions will be of a timely nature.
