With some creative brainstorming, you should be able to find some local techniques that get your name in front of consumers without spending as much as you would on national television advertising campaign. Here are some ideas for regional advertising:
- Local cable television. Very often there are packages available that include production and you can specify the target market you want to expose to your commercial. While you may wind up with some less-than-desirable airtimes, the local cable commercials are usually a good deal overall.
- Area newspapers are cost-effective places for your print advertising. Usually there are more specialized sections that appear on different days of the week that present good opportunities to reach your target market. Sunday papers almost always have the highest circulation numbers for the week.
- Create synergistic partnerships with area companies. Sell golf clubs? Promote the local course and have them place your products in the pro shop.
- Sponsor local events. Maybe you can donate the golf balls with your company logo on them to golf tournaments and outings.
- As an added incentive and to express your appreciation for the new business that's developed through local marketing, you could offer free shipping for deliveries that occur within your town or state.
