By Wayne Kawamoto February 21, 2008 With its ability to serve a wide range of online stores from small to large, host multiple storefronts and offer detailed management tools and reports, AmeriCommerce's shopping cart and e-commerce program is a strong one. And with its free trial period, it's worth considering.
AmeriCommerce is both a hosting and e-commerce service. Its ability to operate multiple storefronts from a single console and product catalog makes it immediately stand apart from others. In use, it's much like selling through different Web stores that appeal to different target markets, but with only a single warehouse and order processing facility. Using AmeriCommerce, you can also sell electronic goods such as software, licenses and subscriptions.
Fill the Shopping Cart, Processing Payments
AmeriCommerce offers a one-page checkout that processes credit card payments in real-time through gateways such as Authorize.Net, and it can accept PayPal payments, which at press time, was a fairly new feature. If you wish, you can accept mailed checks, store credits, COD and more. Call center and customer service representatives can take orders as well as edit them to add or remove items, provide refunds, settle credit card charges and change addresses. When customers leave carts without purchasing their contents, they can return later to find their carts and contents waiting for them. An abandoned shopping cart report displays all abandoned carts along with their totals, contents and customer contact information (if supplied). Automated e-mails may be sent to customers to try and convert these carts into sales. You can specify free shipping based on order totals or destinations, or when certain items are purchased together. Repeat visitors can track their order histories and shipments and receive tiered pricing and discounts. Also, you can charge taxes based on ship-to addresses or base these on state, zip code or country. Ship It When waiting for products to arrive, customers can view real-time order tracking information. When the status of an order changes, there are customizable confirmation e-mail templates that can be automatically sent as plain text or HTML. After the sale, the program automatically generates and prints packing slips and invoices, and you can define whether these are printed one at a time or in bulk. Drop shipping features can automatically break-up orders for multiple vendors and send customized e-mails to them. (Continue to Page 2 For More Information on Management Tools and Set-Up) |
