ECommerce Guide just wrapped up its latest e-commerce site critique — featuring ScoutingBooks.com — and we're already looking ahead to our next critique in a few months.
Meanwhile, we're putting out the call now to all prospective critique candidates. Why so early? Well, we are upping the ante just a bit for our next subject. If you caught our most recent critique, you'd have seen that our friends over at Webtrends contributed a detailed review of ScoutingBooks' site statistics. While comprehensive, the Web analytics evaluation wasn't as complete as we would have liked. The reason was that our participant's host couldn't provide Web server logs that contained enough information to, for example, monitor shopping cart abandonment.
This wasn't the first time we've had problems analyzing a participant's log files. This time, we're making sure we get all the information we need. Webtrends has agreed to provide the next critique candidate with 90 days of free Web analytics. Upon selection, our newest critique subject will work with Webtrends to set up proprietary analytics tags on the participant's Web server.
So, if you're having a hard time boosting sales, getting exposure or think your online store's design is the pits, send an e-mail to us for consideration in ECommerce Guide's next site critique. You must be the owner of the business you are submitting for consideration and have a thick skin.
In the meantime, if you haven't read our Critique series, here's your chance to catch up:
